I would like to be sure that those who rent it, respect the effort that has gone into the renovation work, appreciate Cypriot architecture and traditional interior design and wish to protect and care for it. I worked very hard on this project and I am very proud of the result.

I chose the name ‘Aliki’s House’ to remember and honour my beloved aunt. I hope that visitors to my house will feel the warmth and peace of village life and look back on their stay here with pleasure and will wish to return.

I would like to thank my husband for his support and patience in helping me to achieve my lifelong dream.

I am Elena and I live in Neo Chorio in Paphos. This is the house my aunt gave me when I was 11 years old. For more than thirty years, I had the dream to renovate it in the traditional style. It is a stone house full of old furniture and memories of a loved one. My aunt had no children of her own and loved her nieces as if they were her own children. When she passed away in 2004, I decided that I would keep the memories and the history of this house that had been a family home for over a century.

I had to take out several loans to achieve this dream and began the renovation work in 2012 and have only just completed the work. The enormous expense of this work, however, has made it necessary for me to rent the house.
